How Shameful!

I can't believe I haven't said anything since January, and the last one was so depressing too.
I really thought that a laptop would help me be better at blogging my scripture thoughts because I could do it in bed right after I read. What was I thinking though? These days I either want to go to bed or I want to read another book after I finish my scriptures.
Anyway, I'll be better. Especially on Sundays. I always have comments on lessons and thoughts from church. Which I make a lot of comments at church, so you wouldn't think there would be anything left. Ooh, and I'm thinking I should stop going to Sunday School. Shocking, I know, but I am just a big bawl baby and I'm even sick of it. I won't though.
Anyway, here is some food for thought.
Both from chapters on the Resurrection which is perfect for Easter Sunday.
Last night for family scripture study I decided that we would read John 20.
I figured it would help us focus on the Easter holiday and it's real purpose.
My thought doesn't really have anything to do with the resurrection itself, but from this verse.
Well, let me set it up first. Mary went to the tomb, saw that it was empty and ran to get the apostles. They came, saw it, and left. Mary stayed, Jesus found her, and then she went to tell the apostles what happened and wait for Jesus. He came, and saw all of them except Thomas and then he left. Thomas doubted and said that he needed to touch him before he could believe it. Thomas had to wait.
How have I always missed this? Eight days! I was just shocked at the pure evidence from the Bible that Christ visited the Americas and who knows who else he visited. I'm pretty sure he wasn't in the Americas for 8 days. I have never really been able to figure out the time line and how it worked, but seriously, it all makes sense right now. Christ died, we know from the Bible that he was dead for three days, and we know from the BoM that they were in darkness for three days. AMAZING! Wouldn't you agree. I should probably get of this trip of trying to find all the truths to the restored gospel in the Bible. I have no one to really prove it too, but it brings me joy.

26 ¶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Want to hear another thing that kind of caught me from that chapter? Sure you do!

This verse: 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Food for thought. I'm not sure what to think of it. It sounds interesting.
Ok, the second Resurrection thought. This was purely coincidental. We have been reading in Alma and just happened to read this chapter on Easter.
Alma 40
Towards the end of this chapter after Alma has talked a lot about the resurrection he says this:
I just thought that it was so interesting that he threw in there this is just my theory of opinion.

20 Now, my son, I do not say that their resurrection cometh at the resurrection of Christ; but behold, I give it as my opinion, that the souls and the bodies are reunited, of the righteous, at the resurrection of Christ, and his aascension into heaven.

I just thought that it was so interesting that he threw in there this is just my theory of opinion. I think many prophets and apostles have and do this, but the people always searching for anti-Mormon material can't help that they could just speculate and give their thoughts on the matter. Turns out he was right.
What to hear an interesting speculation one of the early prophets made? I have the book and haven't been able to find since it was pointed out to me by a certain person (Regis). But one of the early prophets mentioned that they didn't think that organ donation was going to be the best idea for a person because what would have during the resurrection? I'm pretty sure he was just perplexed by the whole thing, but that in the end it will work out. Just another food for thought on the resurrection and having an opinion.
Happy Easter!
