I promise I have been reading my scriptures, and I have had some good experiences with them, I just haven't had time to document them.
Things have been a little rough faith wise, but I am still here and trying and the scriptures certainly help lift me up.
Anyway, yadda, yadda, yadda....My latest trip into the scriptures was to read Alma 5. It's one of the value experiences for Virtue, and it is crazy! Not in like a crazy this isn't true way, but crazy like eek way.
Confused? Well I will get more to the chapter when I have more time. It's currently midnight right now, and I need to go read my scriptures and crash for the night.
I wanted to get a preview out of the chapter just to say I'm here. My big thought on the chapter for the night is that I felt like I was being interrogated harshly. Before you start the chapter it states this:
The words which Alma, the High Priest according to the holy order of God, delivered to the people in their cities and villages throughout the land. Comprising chapter 5.
From that you don't get a whole lot of detail about who he is talking to, so as you are reading the at times harsh questions you are thinking he is talking to wayward people and maybe you can feel better that you don't fit into that category, but then the last verse in the chapter says this: I speak by way of command unto you that belong to the church; and unto those who do not belong to the church I speak by way of invitation, saying: Come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye also may be partakers of the fruit of the atree of life.
Crazy chapter. Brace yourself, it's a little rough, but read it.
