I wonder if you have caught on to my love for the Bible, and more specifically the New Testament. I think the reason is because I spent like two years trying to find all the evidences of the Restored Gospel in it. There are a ton. Sometimes I just wonder how people miss it.
Anyway, with that said, I'll go to one of my evidences of the truthfulness of the restored gospel in the New Testament, and we find it right in the middle of Christ's parables from Matthew 13. In fact, the first parable.
It goes along with my how good is good enough thought, which I'll put up here later. For now let's go back to the basic sketch of the "Plan of Salvation" and think about Kingdoms. The basic break-down goes like this. Celestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom and Telestial Kingdom. Then we also know that the Celestial Kingdom has been broken down into 3 segments also. Most of the time when we tell people this, they think that we are a little loony. For biblical evidence we usually drag them to 1 Corinthians 15 and show them the scriptures about Celestial bodies and Telestial bodies. I battled a while with this scripture before I gave up on it as a good defense for evidence that the Restored Gospel is in the bible. (Reason being is the comparison. Start in verse 39 and go through 41. Notice how it goes from comparing 4 things (bodies), to comparing 2 bodies (celestial and telestial), and then 3 types of stars. The comparison falls to bits a little especially when you see that the chapter is talking about the resurrection and if you look at the whole celestial and telestial thing, it could just be talking about the imperfect body we have now compared to the perfect body we will have.
I hate that I just shattered that notion for some people, but I can redeem myself, I know I can. Let's jump back to where I was. The Parable of the Sower.
Now, this may be a stretch too, and get some eyes and people thinking what, but go with me on this.
Here is the section of scripture. Matthew 13: 3-8
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Some fell upon astony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
But other fell into good ground, and abrought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
This could be a forever long post at this rate. There is far to much to cover with this, because I draw on where I get this from the D&C and also writings from the church after Christ was crucified.
But focus on this, each seed grew and sprung up somewhat. The first was devoured up by a bird (maybe the real animal should be a snake), but think about the Sons of Perdition, not a chance. The next two didn't really have a fighting chance, but there was something there.
Also, look at the last one, there was a plant that actually came forth and the fruit provided there was of differing amounts. Therefore breaking up in to different sections within a section.
Make sense? It seriously takes drawing a little more on what we know from the D&C. Maybe I'll go recreate the list from D&C that died with the Journey's notebook. Writing this makes me devastated that it's gone. I hate it.
Oh, and I hope that the point that you get from reading the two posts is that I want the 90. I want the 90 in not being a problem (from the YC post) and I want 90 because I want the best the Celestial Kingdom has to offer. It makes me sad to think I could get there and not get the 90, but maybe the 60 or 30. Terribly devastating thought also. It makes me wonder too, because I so haven't lived a perfect life. Ahh....
