D&C 76

So are you ready to have the thought built on top of the last one I left you with?
I highly recommend reading the whole chapter some time. Once you take the last thought and jump to this one, you'll be amazed. It's fantastic all we know. It's ridiculous too, this stuff can't just be made up, so why don't people just see the truth!?!
Anyway, lets do the breakdown.
Celestial Kingdom: (vs. 50-70)
  • Testimony of Christ
  • Believed on His name.
  • Baptized after his manner
  • Keep commandments
  • Have the gift of the Holy Ghost
  • Overcame by faith
  • First Resurrection
  • Come/Go in a cloud with Christ (which means we get shiny gold sandals!)
  • Just men made perfect in Christ (I want to delve deeper into that topic of a just man.)
Terrestrial Kingdom:(vs. 71-80)
  • Died without the law
  • Spirits who were preached to in Spirit Prison (vs. 73)
  • Didn't have a testimony of Christ before but gained one after (vs. 74)
  • Honorable men on Earth but blinded by men's craftiness
  • Not valiant in the testimony of Christ (vs. 79)
Doesn't that just make you grateful for the family you were born into? It scares me to think if I was born into a different family and if I would have accepted the gospel here. Happy I'm baptized. It's just crazy, it makes a big difference. Sun versus the moon. The glory of the two are very different.

Telestial Kingdom: (81-113)
  • Didn't receive the gospel of Christ or his testimony
  • Who, "Deny not the Holy Ghost."
  • They are thrust down to Hell. (vs. 84)
  • Aren't resurrected until the last Resurrection (after the Millennium).
  • They won't be caught up in rapture or twinkled. I can't think of the term (vs. 102)
  • Liars, Sorcerers, Adulterers, Whoremongers.
  • The number of people here is like the number of stars there are.
Sons of Perdition: (vs. 30-49)
  • They were overcome by the devil.
  • Deny truth and Defy Christ's power
  • Doomed to suffer for eternity (better that they weren't born)
  • Denied the HG after receiving it.
  • Put Christ to an open shame.
  • Second Death has power over them (no Resurrection)
Scary stuff. I didn't quite no what to put there, but this chapter scares the living daylights out of you to be Son of Perdition. It sounds terrifying.

Crazy stuff though! I'm so excited to have this reference again. It kind of puts clarity to that plan of salvation that I posted a while ago. Scary huh, because remember what I posted down there was that David is quoted twice saying that he knows God won't leave his soul in Hell forever. So does David go to the Telestial Kingdom then? I need to read more about David, because I know he did bad things, but he is called a man after God's own heart and he wrote a ton of the New Testament. Doesn't that seem crazy to you? It is crazy!

  1. Ok, so I told you my brain doesn't work like this, so, you lost me on the last post, but this one is really good. That is a good list. Here's to hoping we end up in the Celestial Kingdom, right??
